NINE BCTC STUDENTS TAKE "PASSPORTS" TO FIRST PLACE

Students from across the region came together to demonstrate their technical and academic abilities at the SkillsUSA-VICA District Competitions in February. Thirty-two Berks Career and Technology Center students brought home medals from the competitions held in Lebanon, Lancaster, and Franklin Counties.

"SkillsUSA-VICA: Your Passport for Success" was the theme for this year's competition. Vocational-technical students learn and develop occupational skills that are invaluable in today's work force. Through competitions, students demonstrate their expertise, increase their self-confidence, and earn awards and scholarships to further develop their skills. First-place winners at district competitions will advance to the state competition in April at the Seven Springs Resort and Conference Center, with the ultimate goal of competing and winning at the national competition held during the summer.
