The Berks Career and Technology Center has been selected to participate in this year's festivities, celebrating Career and Technical Education Week in Pennsylvania , February 9 through 13, 2004. Sponsored by the Department of Education's Bureau of Career and Technical Education, the week-long recognition provides an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding efforts of students enrolled in Pennsylvania 's career and technical schools. The Career Center 's Dental Occupations program will be one of 35 educational displays on exhibit at the Capitol's Main Rotunda and East Wing Rotunda, Tuesday and Wednesday, February 10 and 11, 2004. The program recently received one of the highest honors bestowed by professionals in the career and technical education field. The Pennsylvania Association for Career and Technical Education recognized the program as Pennsylvania 's exemplary program in the field of career and technical education. Only one award is presented in this category each year by the association.
Visitations of the educational displays will begin at noon on Tuesday, February 10, and a special breakfast will be held on Wednesday morning, February 11, at the Crown Plaza Hotel to recognize business and industry and career and technical education partnerships.
The essence of career and technical education is achieved through applying academics and technical skills to real-life situations. The Berks Career and Technology Center is proud to showcase the impressive work of its students and faculty in an effort to publicize the vitality and promise of technical education today.
