The Berks Career and Technology Center provides high-quality technical education and career preparation to meet the needs of today's high school students and adults. The school serves 16 public school districts, numerous nonpublic schools, and the citizens and businesses of the Berks County, Pennsylvania area.

Each year, about 3,000 secondary and adult students attend BCTC to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to keep on learning and succeed in a competitive workplace. They can choose from 34 programs of study in fields as diverse as manufacturing, information technology, construction, technical, healthcare, transportation, communications, and personal services.

BCTC evening courses help adults upgrade their skills, earn certifications, or retool for new careers. Customized programs assist local companies in training their employees in areas such as electromechanical technologies, welding, applied mathematics, computers, and CNC machining.

Founded in 1968, BCTC has been in the forefront of competency-based learning for 35 years and counting. A $34 million renovation project, completed in 2002, expanded and modernized the East Campus in Oley and the West Campus in Leesport. State-of-the-art learning laboratories, a highly skilled faculty, and a curriculum geared to industry standards combine to distinguish BCTC as a premier provider of career education.
