A drafting and design
technician help’s to convert an idea that exists in a designer’s
mind to precise working specifications from which a product can
be made. Drafting design technicians assist engineers and architects
in the design and drafting of electrical circuits, machine structures,
weldments or architectural plans. They prepare engineering plans,
layouts and detailed drawings. They also make charts, graphs,
diagrams, and models. Drafting design technicians work with several
kinds of engineers including mechanical, chemical, electrical,
and civil.
After learning board work, you will learn the basics of CAD
and then proceed to study fundamentals of drafting on a computer.
The AutoCAD program will allow you to learn three-dimensional
solid model drafting through software programs.
