| The Photo Imaging Technology course
offers instruction that prepares individuals to understand and
use the technology and skills needed to function in the commercial
field of photography. The basic concepts and principles of photography
are covered in preparation for advanced study and use of applied
photo techniques and photofinishing processes.
In this course of study, you will be responsible for understanding
and using the entire process of photography from determining
exposure, composing and recording an image, to producing the
final print, using both the black-and-white and color process.
The course also includes working in-depth with the latest in
digital imaging and basic understanding of electronic publishing.
You will interact with students from Visual Imaging and Design
Technology in the process of working on skills related to the
capabilities of the computer desktop.
Present technology continues to involve the still photographer
with electronics, and especially digital imaging. Computerization
and electronics are fast becoming an integral part of the
commercial photographer’s daily tools.
