Clinical Experience
You've learned a lot but want to learn more.
Now's your chance. Have a clinical experience!
Students in the
Health Occupations, Health Related Technologies and Occupational Child
Development programs have opportunities to reap the rewards of a clinical
experience. If you are selected for "clinical," you will be assigned
to a work site where you can get involved in the day-to-day activities of that
location. Examples of clinical sites include area hospitals, retirement
communities, nursing homes, and day care centers. A clinical experience at one
of these local facilities will provide valuable on-the-job training and give
you a wonderful opportunity to 'test the waters" of the career field
you're considering.
Students are selected for clinical experiences based on competencies that
can be learned at the work site. To be eligible for clinical, students must
meet standards of appropriate attitude and citizenship, adherence to school
policies, proof of immunizations and legal documentation, and appropriate
grades. Instructors match students with work sites and assign specific
competencies to make the most of the learning experience. |
