We Deliver Presentations
In-School Presentations
We're so proud of our program, we'll come to your school to tell you about it.
There's a PowerPoint Presentation too. Show time!
Each year, representatives from Berks Career and Technology Center visit our 16 sending school districts to make presentations to ninth grade classes. Usually scheduled during the fall term, the presentations cover important topics such as interests and aptitudes, career options, the job marketplace, co-op experience, and opportunities for post-secondary education.
During these presentations, students watch a slide show overview of the more
than 34 programs available at BCTC. They learn that those programs are organized
into eight career clusters: Transportation, Communications, Computers,
Healthcare, Manufacturing, Personal Services, and Technical. They are encouraged
to think
about those clusters to see where their own interests and abilities might lead
them.
Often students are surprised to learn that attending BCTC does not eliminate the possibility of going on to college. On the contrary, Berks Career and Technology Center coordinates a variety of opportunities for students to complete their academic course work and gain practical training that gives them a strong preparation for post-secondary education. In addition, BCTC has articulation agreements with numerous colleges and trade schools that provide a seamless transition from high school to continuing education.
