Administrative Director

The Berks Career and Technology Center (BCTC), a state-of-the-art technical education facility, located near Reading, Pennsylvania, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Director. BCTC is located on two campuses, one in northwestern and one in southeastern Berks County. As a shared-time school, BCTC provides career and technical education to 2,000 students from sixteen sponsoring school districts.

Responsibilities:

The Administrative Director of career and technical education plans, organizes, and directs the total educational and administrative functions of the school. The Administrative Director has the overall responsibility for the total program and general supervision of all administrative, supervisory, and instructional staff.

Requirements:

  • Pennsylvania Vocational Administrative Director Certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with previously demonstrated experience and proficiency in career and technical education at the central office level.

Salary will be competitive along with an attractive fringe benefit package.

Substitute Cafeteria Workers

BCTC is seeking substitute cafeteria workers for our East and West Campuses. The ideal candidate will assist in providing students with a nutritious meal of high quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and personal quality.

Child Abuse and Criminal History clearances will be required upon hire. The pay is $8.50 per hour.

Substitute Instructors

Substitute instructors are needed in various vocational-technical occupations. Substitutes will be called on an as-needed basis. The substitute will be responsible for student attendance verification, carrying out lesson plans for the instructor, and giving students assignments.

Qualifications:

  1. Applicants need not be certified teachers
  2. Must be a high school graduate
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age
  4. Must be willing to complete Act 34, Act 151, and FBI clearance checks
