The information technology field has grown into
several specialty areas, one of which is Applications. Applications are the programs that are purchased either off-the-shelf or customized to solve specific problems for a business. BCTC is an official Microsoft IT Academy and a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Authorized Testing Center.
Students in the IT Applications program receive a well-rounded education in operating systems, general office applications, and internet design software. The program also includes supporting applications such as photo, website and desktop publishing applications. Students can prepare to obtain certifications in Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), CompTIA Network + Certification, CompTIA Internet + (I+) Certification.
In this exciting, rapidly growing and challenging field, innovations in
computer hardware and software occur often and require
frequent adaptation on the part of successful workers. Graduates of this program can find employment as a
computer support specialist, database administrator, data entry operator, and desktop support specialist.
