• About the Event: STEAM-Con is a day-long event hosted by Berks Career and Technology Center for 5th-8th grade students in Berks County. Teams are challenged to use STEAM principles to invent, create or design a project that will have a positive impact on Berks County and/or its residents. Teams will present their projects to a panel of judges and also participate in STEAM activities, eat lunch, and attend an awards ceremony all while on BCTC's west campus.

Build a Team: Teams must consist of up to 4 students in 5th/6th grade or 7th/8th grade plus one faculty advisor.  Advisors should register their teams by January 31st, 2020.  Space is limited and teams will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

Create!: Work as a team using STEAM concepts to create or invent a project that will better the lives of Berks County residents, or improve an aspect of the county. Projects could focus on improving/creating greenspace, revising traffic patterns, increasing tourism, or any other topic that your team identifies!

Compete! Teams will present their projects to a team of judges at BCTC on May 5th, 2020.

Win! With many thanks to the sponsors listed below, prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams in the 5th/6th grade category and the 7th/8th grade category.  A Best in Show prize will also be awarded.
