Future Ready is designed for a high school student’s senior year. Future Ready provides training and certifications for students in one of the many programs offered at Berks Career and Technology Center. All programs would start on the first day of the student’s senior year. Incoming seniors can choose from three Future Ready options:
- Specialized training – students will learn program specific skills at Berks Career and Technology Center during the first part of the year. Students may qualify for supervised work experience toward the end of the year. Programs include Cabinetry & Wood Technology, Horticulture, Masonry, Painting & Decorating, Automotive Collision Repair Technology, Recreational & Power Technology, Robotics & Automation Technology, Welding, Culinary Arts, Protective Services Homeland Security, Communication Media Technology, and new for the 2020-21 Heavy Equipment Operations.
- Level 1 training – students will begin one of 37 programs offered at Berks Career and Technology Center. Students would have the option to complete the program training as an adult in BCTC’s Continuing Education (Please note, there is tuition for Continuing Education classes).
- Evening classes – students will participate in evening classes several times a week at Berks Career and Technology Center. Available classes include Welding and Trade Preparation for Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical (Please note, there is tuition for classes). Applications for the 2020-21 school year are due by July 1, 2020.
