Caitlynd Donati is a Hamburg Area School District senior who studies Health Occupations at the BCTC West Campus. Caitlynd's long term goal is to be a Master's level educated Nurse Midwife.
While attending BCTC, Caitlynd was able to experience clinical at Berks Heim. She considers this opportunity her best experience at BCTC as well as the one that prepared her for future plans. Caitlynd said, "I believe that due to the clinical experience, I was more prepared to pass the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) test, and it gave me the security that this profession is truly in my heart." The clinical experience was also incredibly beneficial to the Nurse Aide Training (NAT) program.
When Caitlynd graduates, she will be taking with her certifications including: OSHA, CNA, and CPR. These certifications will come in handy right away, as she plans to work for BAYADA Home Health Care over the summer before starting college in the fall. Caitlynd is excited for the BAYADA opportunity because she loves the mission of the organization, which is to allow patients to stay in the comfort of their own home while still receiving treatment. She plans to consider working for BAYADA through college.
Caitlynd will be attending the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences for Nursing. This is a dual enrollment program with Alvernia University, that will result in a Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
During her time at BCTC, Caitlynd has participated in FCCLA, SkillsUSA, and held the office of Treasurer for HOSA-Future Health Professionals. Her hard work and positive attitude have also helped her earn student of the quarter recognition. In addition to BCTC activities, Caitlynd participated in Hamburg Cheerleading from 2014-2017.
When asked how she feels about BCTC, Caitlynd said, "I believe that if you try and work hard, you will walk out of BCTC as a changed person for the betterment of society."
BCTC wishes Caitlynd the best of luck as she moves on to the next phase of her education, but we know that luck has little to do with it. Keep up the hard work, Caitlynd!
