Delanie Heck-Hoppes is a homeschooled senior who is enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at the BCTC West Campus, and has a dream of opening his own café.
Due to Delanie's hard work and dedication, he has earned himself multiple certifications and awards. Among these achievements are the ACF (American Culinary Federat ion) certification, OSHA, Junior Culinary, and ServSafe. He has also earned an award for having perfect attendance.
In addition to securing many certifications, Delanie is also an active member of SkillsUSA and the National Technical Honor Society. He is an officer for FCCLA serving as the secretary Delanie has participated in a number of competitions while at BCTC. In 2017, he placed first in the Food Service competition. Later, in 2018, he took third place in the areas of Food Service and Culinary Arts.
Delanie shines both in and out of the classroom. Outside of school, he is part of the Track and Field and Cross Country team.
After graduation, Delanie looks forward to attending college to major in Culinary Arts/Business Management.
Delanie enjoys the atmosphere of BCTC and watching everyone get along. When asked to describe BCTC in his own words, he replied, "I enjoyed being here and making new friends and learning the most I could to jump start my career in Culinary Arts."
