Bradlee Benjamin is a Brandywine Heights Area School District senior who studies Cabinetry at the BCTC West campus. He plans to major in Engineering while doing cabinetmaking on the side.
Bradlee had the opportunity to take part in a co-op experience over the summer at Eye Designs LLC. He worked within several aspects of his field and held responsibilities to take care of. These included finishing, detail, and shipping.
Furthermore, Bradlee has received certifications in OSHA, NCCER, PBA, as well as a Pennsylvania Skills certificate. He has been selected as a "BCTC Student of the Quarter" and has won a "Perfect Attendance" award.
In addition, Bradlee is a member of both the National Technical Honor Society and SkillsUSA. In 2017, he competed for the SkillsUSA organization. He placed first at the district level, first at the state level, and seventh at the national competition. He competed again in 2018 where he has placed first at districts and first at states. In June, 2018, Bradlee will head to Louisville Kentucky to compete at the national level.
Bradlee is an excellent student in the classroom, but he also excels in other activities too. He participates on the wrestling, football, and archery team at his home school. He aha also helped out with a wrestling tournament for younger children.
Upon graduation, Bradlee will attend the Pennsylvania College of Technology to major in Engineering and Design. He plans to major in Engineering, but still do cabinetmaking on the side. He feels that BCTC has given him freedom to work at his own pace and has provided him with the skills necessary for engineering.
When asked to describe BTC in his own words, Bradlee said, "BCTC has furthered my knowledge in Cabinetry and has has a major effect on m growth and skills."
