Every day, they visit the Student Services office to add a new positive affirmation to the bulletin board, sharing words of encouragement and motivation with their peers. Their small yet powerful act of kindness has created a ripple effect, fostering a sense of community, support, and positivity throughout BCTC.

Reviving the Lost Art of Butchering 🍖 Culinary Arts students are diving into the time-honored skills of butchering and meat processing, learning how to break down large cuts into a variety of dishes! From precision cutting to expert seasoning, they’re mastering techniques that bring out the best flavors and textures in every bite.
Hands-on training like this ensures our students are ready for the industry—whether in restaurants, butcher shops, or culinary entrepreneurship.
Protective Services – Law Enforcement Brings Their A-Game to Reading Royals Scout Night! 👮♀️ This past Saturday, Alison and Abigail from Protective Services – Law Enforcement had an amazing time at the Reading Royals Pre-game Scout Night!
Before the puck dropped, they gave local scout troops a hands-on lesson in handcuffing and baton techniques, showing off the skills and training that set BCTC students apart.

From Sheet Metal to Cozy Homes: HVAC/R Students Bring the Heat! 🔥 Students are turning raw materials into real-world solutions! They started with flat sheets of metal in the HVAC/R lab, custom-building ductwork, hangers, and the all-important plenum—the key to keeping air flowing efficiently.
Now, their hard work is coming to life in the student-built house, where every piece they designed and fabricated plays a role in the heating system.
Inspiring the Next Generation of IT Professionals! 💻 IT Programming students had the incredible opportunity to hear from Mr. William Parks, a Cloud Engineer at The Vanguard Group! During his visit, he emphasized the importance of persistence in job searching and interviewing, showing students how determination plays a key role in career success. He also highlighted how programming skills extend beyond the tech industry, influencing fields as diverse as finance, healthcare, and entertainment.
By sharing insights into the many career paths in IT, Mr. Parks provided a real-world perspective that left students motivated and ready to take on their futures!
BCTC is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Adult and Continuing Education to lead and manage our Continuing Education department. This role oversees all aspects of adult education, including daytime and evening programs, as well as the CDL program. Additionally, the Director serves as the administrative liaison to CareerLink and other local agencies, ensuring effective management of workforce development funds that subsidize tuition costs.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a passion for workforce development and career education. This role is critical in fostering strong relationships with external partners, industries, and workforce organizations to expand program offerings, secure funding opportunities, and enhance BCTC’s reputation in the community. The Director will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and managing industry partnerships that generate revenue, increase program visibility, and provide value to both students and business partners.

From stabilization to teamwork, these future healthcare heroes are gaining hands-on experience that prepares them for real-world scenarios.
🚗💨 Shifting into Success! Jacob and Ryan, 3rd-year Automotive Technology, showcased their skills at the PAA Auto Tech Competition in Hershey, earning 2nd place!
They raced against the clock through five intense workstations and diagnosed a “bugged” vehicle, proving their problem-solving and technical expertise. Their hard work paid off with $5,000 in scholarships and tools each!

Future engineers in the making! ⚡ Mechatronics Engineering Technology students from Exeter had a blast sharing their passion for engineering with Owatin Creek 4th graders! The elementary students teamed up to design and build working electrical circuit models, with guidance and encouragement from our students.
Through hands-on problem-solving and a little trial and error, the 4th graders learned how engineers tackle challenges—and had fun doing it! 💡
Back in December, we introduced you to Jack, a Level 2 Automotive Collision Repair student from Exeter Township SD, who took on the challenge of restoring a 1981 Honda CME 409E left untouched for 15 years. Now, his vision is complete!
Jack transformed the bike with a sleek new frame, custom fender, and a bold orange-and-black flame design—complete with skulls that sparkle. His dedication and craftsmanship turned barn dust into a head-turning ride!
