BCTC’s HOSA – Future Health Professionals chapters competed at the PA State HOSA Conference in Lancaster, showcasing their skills in healthcare-related events. Miguel (Wilson) and Isabella (Conrad Weiser) earned first-place finishes, qualifying for Nationals in June!
Several other students placed in their events, and four received Penn HOSA scholarships for their dedication to healthcare studies.

Welding Meets Work Ethic 🔥 Logan, a Level 3 Welding student from Brandywine Heights, grew up honing his repair skills on his family’s 150-acre dairy farm. That farm-grown work ethic, combined with the welding skills he’s sharpened at BCTC, has prepared him to tackle cryogenic tank welding at AES LLC in Kutztown with precision and confidence.

Trade Show Success! 🛍️ Business Management & Entrepreneurship students turned the LGI into a bustling marketplace during their spring trade show! Students from all programs got a taste of the business world, "shopping" with virtual credit cards provided by Virtual Enterprise International (VEI) and scoring some impressive deals on the company’s e-commerce site.
With one-on-one personal service and expert advice from BME students, the "shoppers" navigated the tradeshow like pros. What a great way to sharpen those entrepreneurial skills and boost those revenue goals!

Shamrocks, Sunshine, and Saving Lives! 🍀 Jezika, Isabella, Jackie, and Nicole, from Health Occupations, struck gold with another successful blood drive—proving that a little Irish luck (and a lot of hard work) can make a big difference! Their efforts helped collect 40 units of blood for the Miller Keystone Blood Center.

From Flat Sheets to Full Install! 🔧 Remember those flat sheets of metal our HVAC/R students were transforming into ductwork, hangers, and a plenum a few weeks ago? Well… they’ve officially moved in!
This week, our HVAC crew was busy installing their custom-built pieces into the student-built house — and it’s coming together! From cutting and bending to fitting and securing, they’re crushing it every step of the way
Splitting Hairs? No Problem! Precision Machining Technology students are taking accuracy to the next level — setting up lathes to machine parts with a tolerance as small as a quarter of the width of a human hair!
👀Mastering precision like this takes focus, training, and dedication — and our students are up for the challenge!
Safety in Action! 🔥 Protective Services students took the lead in fire safety training, teaming up with Sports Medicine & Rehabilitative Therapy students for a hands-on learning experience! From understanding fire behavior to properly using a fire extinguisher, these future first responders and healthcare professionals worked together to build critical safety skills.
Great job to all the students involved—this collaboration highlights the importance of emergency preparedness in every field!
Level 3 Health Occupations students have officially wrapped up their clinical experience at Berks Heim, an essential milestone in their Nurse Aide Training journey! Through hands-on learning, they’ve gained invaluable real-world experience in patient care, teamwork, and professionalism.
Now, it’s time for the next big step—the certification exam! 📝💪 Wishing our students the best of luck as they prepare to become Certified Nurse Aides and take their first steps into the healthcare field.

Every day, they visit the Student Services office to add a new positive affirmation to the bulletin board, sharing words of encouragement and motivation with their peers. Their small yet powerful act of kindness has created a ripple effect, fostering a sense of community, support, and positivity throughout BCTC.

From precision cutting to expert seasoning, they’re mastering techniques that bring out the best flavors and textures in every bite.

Protective Services – Law Enforcement Brings Their A-Game to Reading Royals Scout Night! 👮♀️ This past Saturday, Alison and Abigail from Protective Services – Law Enforcement had an amazing time at the Reading Royals Pre-game Scout Night!
Before the puck dropped, they gave local scout troops a hands-on lesson in handcuffing and baton techniques, showing off the skills and training that set BCTC students apart.

From Sheet Metal to Cozy Homes: HVAC/R Students Bring the Heat! 🔥 Students are turning raw materials into real-world solutions! They started with flat sheets of metal in the HVAC/R lab, custom-building ductwork, hangers, and the all-important plenum—the key to keeping air flowing efficiently.
Now, their hard work is coming to life in the student-built house, where every piece they designed and fabricated plays a role in the heating system.
Inspiring the Next Generation of IT Professionals! 💻 IT Programming students had the incredible opportunity to hear from Mr. William Parks, a Cloud Engineer at The Vanguard Group! During his visit, he emphasized the importance of persistence in job searching and interviewing, showing students how determination plays a key role in career success. He also highlighted how programming skills extend beyond the tech industry, influencing fields as diverse as finance, healthcare, and entertainment.
By sharing insights into the many career paths in IT, Mr. Parks provided a real-world perspective that left students motivated and ready to take on their futures!
